Bata Pakistan Limited has approved a consolidation of its manufacturing operations in Lahore, merging production from two separate facilities into a single integrated site as part of a cost efficiency and optimization plan.
In a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company said its Board of Directors has decided to shift production from the Batapur factory on GT Road and the Maraka factory on Multan Road into one unified manufacturing facility at Batapur.
The restructuring is aligned with Bata’s global strategy of streamlining operations through lean manufacturing and consolidation of production sites to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Under the plan, manufacturing activities at the Maraka facility will be gradually relocated to Batapur in phases. The transition is expected to begin on June 1, 2026, and is targeted for completion by July 15, 2026, subject to operational and regulatory requirements.
The company stated that it does not expect disruptions in production, deliveries, or customer supply during the transition period.
Bata Pakistan said the consolidation is expected to improve capacity utilization, generate operational synergies, and reduce long-term production costs while supporting future growth, including potential export expansion.
The company also noted that employees affected by the restructuring will be managed in line with its internal HR policies and applicable labor laws. The board said the decision is intended to strengthen long-term profitability and operational sustainability.
