Engro Elengy Terminal Limited has handled the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo received in Pakistan to date, following the arrival of a Q-Flex class LNG vessel at its terminal at Port Qasim.

The shipment, delivered on May 13, carried more than 210,000 cubic metres of LNG. Terminal operators initiated unloading operations after the vessel was safely berthed under established port and safety procedures.

Officials said the discharge process required operational planning due to vessel size and tidal limitations at the port. The cargo was offloaded through a dual-parcel discharge arrangement while maintaining standard safety protocols.

The operation involved coordination among several entities, including the Port Qasim Authority, Excelerate Energy, Nakilat, QatarEnergy, Sui Southern Gas Company, and Pakistan State Oil.

Energy sector officials noted that LNG imports remain an important component of Pakistan’s gas supply mix, supporting electricity generation and industrial consumption during periods of higher demand.
