US forces have transferred the crew of an Iranian vessel seized last month to Pakistan for repatriation to Iran, according to a report citing US Central Command.

A spokesman for US Central Command told ABC News that 22 crew members of the vessel, identified as M/V Touska, were handed over to Pakistan on Tuesday for onward return to Iran.

“Today, US forces completed the transfer of 22 crew members of M/V Touska to Pakistan for repatriation,” Captain Tim Hawkins said, according to the report. He added that six other passengers had already been transferred to a regional country for repatriation last week.

Iranian state media identified the six passengers as family members of some of the crew.

Hawkins said custody of the vessel was also being transferred back to its original ownership after it was intercepted and seized while allegedly attempting to breach the US naval blockade on Iran last month.
