The federal government on Thursday approved yet another increase in petroleum prices, raising both petrol and diesel rates for the upcoming eight-day review period.

According to official approval by the Prime Minister, diesel has been increased by Rs. 19.39 per litre, while petrol has gone up by Rs. 6.51 per litre.

After the latest revision, the price of diesel will now stand at Rs. 399.58 per litre, while petrol will be priced at Rs. 399.86 per litre.

The new rates will take effect immediately from Friday, May 1, 2026.

This fresh hike comes just days after a significant adjustment last week, when diesel and petrol prices were both increased by Rs. 26.77 per litre, continuing a sharp upward trend in fuel costs.
