A 26-year-old Pakistani-born technology entrepreneur, Sualeh Asif, has officially become a billionaire following the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence startup Cursor, which he co-founded during his time at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Cursor develops an AI-powered coding platform designed to assist software engineers in writing, editing, and improving computer code. The tool has gained widespread adoption among developers and major global companies seeking to accelerate software development using artificial intelligence.

The company’s valuation surged to $29.3 billion after raising $2.3 billion in a funding round backed by leading venture capital firms Accel and Coatue Management. According to estimates published by Forbes, each co-founder now holds a net worth of roughly $1.3 billion.

Cursor reports more than $1 billion in annualized revenue, positioning it among the fastest-growing companies in the global AI sector. The platform is used by millions of programmers across approximately 50,000 organizations, including Nvidia, Adobe, Uber, and Shopify.

Originally from Karachi, Asif represented Pakistan at the International Mathematical Olympiad between 2016 and 2018 before moving to the United States for higher education. During his university years, he also founded an AI-based search engine project, highlighting his early involvement in artificial intelligence innovation.

In 2026, Asif was included in the Forbes Billionaires list, making him one of the youngest figures worldwide to achieve billionaire status through the AI industry. Cursor was established by four co-founders: Sualeh Asif, Michael Truell, Aman Sanger, and Arvid Lunnemark.
