US President Donald Trump has said that Iran has agreed to suspend its nuclear program indefinitely, as part of what he described as a near-final agreement involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
Trump stated that negotiations aimed at ending the conflict are “mostly complete,” with key elements of a broader framework reportedly already finalized. He added that discussions on a long-term settlement are likely to take place this weekend, with most major issues already agreed upon.
According to Trump, the proposed arrangement does not include a time limit on Iran’s nuclear suspension, rejecting suggestions that any pause would expire after 20 years. He also said that a decision has not yet been made on who will lead the US delegation in the upcoming talks.
The remarks come as markets reacted sharply, with US oil prices falling to a five-week low amid expectations of easing geopolitical tensions in the region.
