Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is expected to head Tehran’s delegation for crucial negotiations scheduled in Islamabad on Friday, while US Vice President JD Vance is likely to represent Washington at the talks, according to Iran’s state-linked ISNA news agency.
The discussions, to be held in Pakistan’s capital, are being viewed as a significant diplomatic effort aimed at easing escalating tensions between the two countries.
Reports indicate that Iran will present a comprehensive 10-point proposal framework covering its nuclear programme, regional security arrangements, and longstanding primary and secondary sanctions imposed on Tehran over the past four decades. The framework is expected to address broader political and economic restrictions that have shaped Iran-US relations for nearly 45 years.
