Pakistan’s cement exports soared by 24.04 percent during the first ten months of the fiscal year 2024-25, according to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). Cement exports reached $253.71 million between July and April, up from $204.55 million in the same period last year.
The growth was even more pronounced in terms of quantity, with cement exports rising by 34.51 percent to 7.13 million metric tons, compared to 5.30 million metric tons during July-April 2023-24.
However, the year-on-year figures for April 2025 painted a different picture. Cement exports in April 2025 dropped by 5.70 percent to $23.64 million, down from $25.07 million in April 2024. Despite this dip, the sector showed resilience on a month-on-month basis, with exports increasing by 7.45 percent compared to $22.00 million in March 2025.
The PBS also reported that Pakistan’s overall exports grew by 6.40 percent during the first ten months of the current fiscal year, reaching $26.90 billion, up from $25.28 billion in the same period last year.
On the import side, the country saw a 7.55 percent increase, with imports rising to $48.29 billion during July-April 2024-25, compared to $44.90 billion in the corresponding period of the previo
