The Punjab government has announced the temporary closure of all schools, colleges, and universities across the province until Sunday, May 11, as a precautionary measure amid ongoing national developments.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat confirmed the decision on Thursday via his official social media account, stating, “All Schools, Colleges, and Universities will be off till Sunday, 11th of May.”

The closure directive applies to both public and private educational institutions under the Punjab government’s jurisdiction, impacting millions of students and educators throughout the province.

While the minister did not elaborate on the specific reasons for the shutdown, the move follows heightened security alerts and widespread disruptions that have led to similar actions in other parts of the country.

Officials have indicated that updates on the reopening of educational institutions or any extension of the closure will be communicated in the coming days, depending on how the situation develops.

Parents, students, and school administrations are advised to stay updated through official government channels, including the education department’s website and verified social media platforms.
