The Punjab government has achieved a significant milestone by completing 1,562 houses under its flagship housing program ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ (My Roof, My Home). According to official figures, the initiative has already disbursed loans exceeding Rs26.97 billion to more than 25,500 households across the province.

The housing program is showing substantial progress with over 21,797 houses currently in the final stages of construction throughout Punjab. Additionally, second installments for home construction have been issued to more than 11,500 families, ensuring the continuation of building activities. The program has also approved an additional 1,106 housing loans to further accelerate the housing agenda.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, commenting on the program’s achievements, emphasized that the initiative, launched under the vision of Nawaz Sharif, continues to advance successfully and is bringing happiness to thousands of families across Punjab.

“The joy of seeing every newly built home is beyond words,” the Chief Minister stated. She reaffirmed her commitment to the program, adding, “My team and I are determined to achieve all targets set under this program.”

The ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ program offers various loan options tailored to different areas:

  • In rural areas, loans up to Rs1.5 million are available for houses up to 10 marlas, repayable in monthly installments of Rs14,000.
  • In urban areas, loans up to Rs1.5 million are provided for houses up to 5 marlas, with the same monthly repayment structure of Rs14,000.
  • In major cities, the government is constructing four-story flats on government land, which will be allocated through a lottery system and provided on easy installments.

The program also includes private housing schemes offering homes ranging from 3 to 5 marlas, with the government providing a subsidy of up to Rs1 million per house.
