Since the start of the year, Lahore Airport authorities have removed 3,171 passengers from flights due to fake, suspicious, or incomplete travel documents. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone has ramped up its efforts to combat human smuggling and other illegal activities at the airport.
As part of the intensified crackdown, the FIA arrested 10 individuals attempting to travel with forged documents and 35 others involved in begging activities. The detained suspects have been handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Lahore for further investigation.
In addition, the FIA successfully intercepted 12 high-profile fugitives wanted by Punjab Police for serious crimes, preventing their escape attempts.
FIA Lahore Zone Director Sarfaraz Khan Virk emphasized that passenger travel records are being thoroughly scrutinized as part of the agency’s zero-tolerance policy against human smuggling. The FIA remains committed to ensuring the integrity of travel processes and cracking down on illegal activities at the airport.
