Pakistan’s unemployment rate has climbed to 6.3%, with young people aged 15-34 being the most impacted, according to the Secretary of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development.

This information was shared during an online briefing to the National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, chaired by Junaid Akbar, on Thursday.

The secretary emphasized the critical role of remittances from overseas Pakistanis, describing them as a vital source of income for the nation. He also underscored the ministry’s potential to make significant contributions to the country’s development, highlighting the importance of leveraging human resources effectively to address economic challenges.
