A cabin crew member of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), identified as Mohsin Raza, has reportedly gone missing during a layover in Toronto, Canada. The incident has raised concerns within the airline’s management as they work to address the situation.
Mr. Raza, based in Islamabad, was scheduled to return to Pakistan on PIA flight PK784 from Toronto to Karachi on October 13, 2024. However, he failed to report for the flight and was discovered missing from his hotel room.
A PIA spokesperson confirmed that an investigation has been launched into the crew member’s disappearance. The crew member was expected to return to Karachi on the scheduled flight. The spokesperson emphasized that strict action would be taken in accordance with airline regulations, which could lead to Mr. Raza’s dismissal if he is found guilty of any misconduct.
The PIA management is actively coordinating with Canadian authorities to prevent similar incidents in the future. Despite ongoing efforts by the airline to address such issues, the problem of crew members going missing during international layovers persists.
