The social media platform Twitter, now rebranded as X, is again accessible in Pakistan following a seven-month ban. This development was confirmed by a lawyer representing the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) during a session at the Sindh High Court.

The lawyer informed the court that the letter that initially prompted the ban on X in February had been withdrawn, leading to the lifting of the restriction. The Sindh High Court had requested clarification on the PTA’s position regarding the platform, prompting the lawyer to outline the government’s current stance on X’s accessibility.

Despite the restoration, it remains uncertain whether access to X will be permanently reinstated or if the platform will face another ban in the future. The court has adjourned the hearing of other petitions related to X’s closure for two weeks, leaving the situation in a state of watchful anticipation.
