The Cabinet Division issued a notification today, outlining new measures for federal and provincial government employees.

Under the notice, government officials serving in BS-20 and above, or those earning a monthly salary of Rs. 300,000 or more, regardless of pay scale, may voluntarily forgo two days’ salary. This measure excludes officials working in the health and education sectors.

Additionally, the government has introduced a four-day working week for all applicable offices. The new schedule will have Monday through Thursday as working days, while Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be designated as holidays.

The decision aims to optimize government spending and improve work-life balance among senior officials.
