The Directorate General of Customs Valuation Karachi has significantly reduced the customs values on imports of old and used computers, laptops, printers, and their auxiliaries and accessories from all origins. This move aims to facilitate importers and reflect current market realities.

The directorate issued a new valuation ruling (No. 2000 of 2025) updating the customs values, which will now apply to all imports of used IT equipment and related accessories.

The previous valuation ruling was over a year old, prompting a comprehensive review based on imported data, market trends, and the gap between market prices and customs values. This exercise was conducted under Sections 25 and 25A of the Customs Act, 1969.

A meeting involving relevant stakeholders was held to determine the updated customs values. Participants highlighted that the values of older models and previous generations of these goods have declined significantly and should be adjusted accordingly.

As a result, the customs values for old and used computer systems, laptops, printers, and their accessories have been revised downward.
