An attempted robbery on the Jalkhand-Babusar Road left two men injured on Tuesday when unidentified assailants opened fire on a vehicle near Thak Deweray.

According to reports, the suspects tried to intercept a Toyota Fortuner (registration APU 15) traveling from Sargodha to Skardu. When the driver refused to stop, the attackers fired at the vehicle, injuring two passengers, Rana Nadeem and Mujtaba, both residents of Sargodha.

The injured were promptly shifted to DHQ Hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition. The vehicle was carrying a total of eight passengers, including women.

Authorities have launched an investigation and stepped up security in the area following the incident.
