The Ignite National Technology Fund has announced the selection of the top 10 GreenTech startups that will present their groundbreaking innovations at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. These startups were chosen from a competitive pool of 120 applicants, which was narrowed down to 40 before the final 10 were selected based on their exceptional contributions to green technology.
The top three startups will represent Pakistan through the GreenTech Hub Initiative, an effort led by the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination and powered by Ignite under the Ministry of IT & Telecom.
Among the finalists is Khaity Technologies (Pvt) Ltd., which focuses on AI-driven solutions to help Pakistani farmers adopt climate-resilient agriculture practices, thereby enhancing food security. Similarly, SAWiE Ecosystem leverages data-driven insights and remote sensing tools to support smallholder farms, optimize crop productivity, and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
Growtech Services is recognized for its climate-smart agricultural technology solutions aimed at increasing productivity while reducing environmental impact. In the energy efficiency sector, EcoEdge AI (Pvt) Ltd. specializes in AI-enhanced HVAC systems, using AI and cloud computing to optimize building energy use and promote eco-friendly urban environments.
In the electric mobility sector, ezBike is working to convert Pakistan’s 27 million petrol motorcycles to electric, reducing conversion costs by 75% with their Battery-as-a-Service model. VLEKTRA Electric Motorcycles also contributes to sustainable urban mobility with locally manufactured electric motorcycles that feature eco-conscious engineering and advanced technology.
Creeco (Pvt) Ltd. is a pioneer in alternative fuels derived from waste materials, producing sustainable fuels like synfuels and ammonia while focusing on carbon capture. Electric Energe Pvt Ltd. (Zyp Technologies) offers an electric mobility solution with a franchise-based battery swap network and Battery-as-a-Service model to make electric vehicle ownership more affordable.
Other finalists address environmental pollution and water scarcity. Concept Loop Pvt. Ltd. transforms end-of-life plastic waste into high-quality building materials, promoting a circular economy with their EcoGrete™ plastic aggregate. NanoDrop develops nanotechnology-based water filtration membranes to remove contaminants at molecular and nano levels, even purifying saline water without electricity.
This initiative is supported by key institutions, including NUST, Pak Launch, Ahya, Sarmayacar, i2i Ventures, and contributions from Zayn Venture Capital, USAID, and CFA. The selected startups aim to drive sustainable change and highlight Pakistan’s commitment to climate action and innovation on a global stage
