Tensions between Pakistan and India intensified after the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) detected four Indian Rafale fighter jets patrolling near the Line of Control (LoC) during the night of April 29-30.

Security sources revealed that the Indian aircraft were operating over Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) when PAF jets swiftly responded, forcing the Indian fighters to retreat from the area.

This incident comes in the wake of the deadly April 22 attack in Pahalgam, IIOJK, which claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists, marking one of the deadliest attacks in the region since 2000. Following the attack, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, while Pakistan hinted at suspending the Simla Agreement and closing its airspace to Indian flights.

India has alleged cross-border involvement in the attack but has yet to provide public evidence. Pakistan has strongly denied any role and called for an independent investigation.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Information Minister Atta Tarar warned of a possible Indian military strike within 24 to 36 hours, condemning India’s approach as reckless. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and highlighted the country’s long-standing sacrifices in combating terrorism.
