The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its remarkable run against the US Dollar (USD) on Thursday, closing in the green for the 126th consecutive day. The local currency also posted gains against most other major currencies during the session.
The PKR ended the day at 279.20 per USD, up one paisa from the previous close.
Performance Against Major Currencies
- Euro (EUR): PKR gained Rs. 1.36, closing at 322.44
- British Pound (GBP): PKR strengthened by Rs. 1.66 to 372.40
- Australian Dollar (AUD): PKR gained 83 paisas, closing at 193.71
- Canadian Dollar (CAD): PKR added 69 paisas to close at 201.85
- Malaysian Ringgit (MYR): PKR rose by 54 paisas to 69.92
- Chinese Yuan (CNY): PKR gained 3 paisas, closing at 40.44
- UAE Dirham (AED): PKR remained mostly stable at 76.02
- Saudi Riyal (SAR): PKR lost one paisa, ending at 74.42
The rupee’s sustained strength reflects ongoing market confidence despite global currency fluctuations and domestic economic factors.
