The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its historic streak against the US Dollar (USD) on Monday, marking 105 consecutive days in the green. Despite only small daily gains, the currency has been steadily strengthening, breaking new records with each session.
On Monday, the PKR edged up by one paisa to close at 279.55 against the USD.
However, the rupee’s performance was mixed against other major currencies. It gained one paisa against both the UAE Dirham (AED) and the Saudi Riyal (SAR) but slipped against most others.
The rupee lost Rs. 1.67 against the British Pound (GBP), Rs. 1.72 against the Euro (EUR), 87 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD), and 29 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).
While the rupee’s gains against the USD are modest, the record-breaking streak signals growing market confidence, though volatility remains against other global currencies.
