The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its upward momentum against the US dollar, closing in the green for the 125th consecutive trading session on Wednesday.
The local currency appreciated slightly, gaining one paisa to settle at 279.21 against the US dollar. During the session, the rupee also recorded gains against several major international currencies.
However, it posted minor losses against Gulf currencies, slipping by one paisa against the UAE dirham and two paisas against the Saudi riyal.
On the other hand, the rupee strengthened notably against other global currencies. It gained 74 paisas against the British pound and 21 paisas against the euro. Additionally, it rose by 48 paisas against the Australian dollar and 60 paisas against the Canadian dollar.
According to the latest exchange data, the PKR showed mixed but largely positive performance across major currencies, reflecting continued stability and gradual appreciation in recent sessions.
