In a significant boost for regional tourism, the road leading to the renowned Saif-ul-Malook Lake has been reopened for tourist traffic after being closed for six months.
Officials from the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) confirmed that access to the lake was restored late last night following an intensive five-day clearance operation.
Located at an altitude of 10,577 feet and surrounded by snow-covered mountains, Saif-ul-Malook Lake is one of Pakistan’s most iconic natural attractions. The KDA’s technical team, using heavy machinery, cleared a 13-kilometer stretch of road by cutting through six glaciers and removing multiple landslides, making the route safe and accessible for 4×4 vehicles.
With the road now open, tourists can once again visit the lake to experience its breathtaking scenery, including snow-capped peaks and serene icy waters.
The KDA has urged visitors to practice responsible tourism by avoiding littering, using designated dustbins, and carrying bags for trash disposal to help preserve the area’s natural beauty and cleanliness.
