Remittances from overseas Pakistanis rose by 13 percent year-on-year to $3.18 billion in April 2025, compared to $2.81 billion in April 2024, according to the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The strong inflows in April contributed to a record $31.21 billion in remittances over the first 10 months of fiscal year 2025 (10MFY25), marking a 31 percent increase from $23.85 billion during the same period last year.
However, on a month-on-month basis, remittances declined by 22 percent in April 2025 compared to $4.05 billion received in March 2025.
A regional breakdown showed that Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances, contributing $725 million in April, followed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with $658 million, the United Kingdom (UK) at $535 million, European Union (EU) countries at $412 million, and the United States (US) at $302 million.
