The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced that the holy month of Ramadan will begin on Sunday, March 2, as the moon was not sighted across Pakistan on Friday evening.

The committee, led by Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, convened in Peshawar to determine the sighting of the Ramadan crescent.

During a press conference following the meeting, Maulana Azad confirmed that no credible testimonies of moon sighting were received from any part of the country. As a result, the first day of Ramadan will be observed on Sunday.
