The government is considering a proposal to reduce federal expenses by adopting a hybrid work model for offices in Punjab.
Under the plan, employees would report to offices for two days a week and work remotely for the remaining days. Staff would be divided into two groups, each attending the office on alternate days.
Half of the employees would work from the office during the first two days, while the other half would do so on the following two days and work from home afterward.
The proposal also suggests closing government offices on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, introducing a four-day workweek.
The initiative aims to lower costs, conserve energy, and improve efficiency.
