The Punjab government has unveiled a new laptop scheme aimed at supporting students, particularly those pursuing higher education. This initiative will provide 110,000 13th-generation Core-i7 laptops to eligible beneficiaries, focusing on first- and second-semester BS students in public sector institutions, as well as medical students.

The selection process for the laptops will be merit-based, ensuring that deserving students receive this valuable resource. The online application portal for the scheme is now operational, and it has already seen a significant response, with thousands of students signing up within hours of its launch.

According to the education minister, BS students must achieve a minimum of 65% in their intermediate exams to qualify for the scheme, while medical students are required to have at least 80%.

In a remarkable start, over 34,000 students registered on the portal within the first few hours, highlighting the demand for this initiative.
