The Punjab cabinet has approved a substantial increase in the salaries of Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) and other key officials. The decision marks a significant revision in the pay structure for provincial lawmakers and officials.

Under the new structure, MPAs will now receive a monthly salary of Rs500,000, while the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly will earn Rs1 million per month. The Deputy Speaker’s salary has been increased to Rs800,000.

Provincial ministers will also benefit from the pay hike, with their monthly salaries rising to Rs1 million. Parliamentary secretaries will now receive Rs600,000 per month, while special assistants and advisors will earn Rs700,000 monthly.

A formal bill to ratify these salary adjustments will be presented in the Provincial Assembly for final approval.
