The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has taken a significant step towards the launch of 5G services in Pakistan, with five international companies submitting technical bids for consultancy services.

This move is part of the PTA’s efforts to enhance the experience of Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) in the country.

The five companies that have submitted technical bids are Aetha Consulting Limited, Detecon Consulting FZ-LLC, Frontier Economics Limited, KomKonsult (Private) Limited, and National Economic Research Associates Inc. The PTA will now evaluate the technical bids and solicit financial bids from the shortlisted companies.

After evaluating both technical and financial bids, the PTA will select a consulting firm to prepare a report on the launch of 5G services in Pakistan.

According to the PTA, the evaluation of technical and financial bids will be undertaken by the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules.

The report will be prepared in consultation with stakeholders and will serve as the basis for the launch of 5G in the country. The PTA aims to launch 5G services in Pakistan by April 2025, as targeted by the Government of Pakistan. The launch of 5G is expected to bring numerous benefits to the country, including faster data speeds, improved connectivity, and increased economic opportunities.

These changes improve the readability and ensure consistency in the use of terms like “consultancy services” and “consulting firm.”
