The federal government is anticipated to increase the prices of MS petrol and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) this week due to fluctuations in international oil prices. Starting December 1, 2024, petrol prices are expected to rise by Rs. 3 per liter, while diesel prices may see an increase of Rs. 2.9 per liter.

Despite these anticipated hikes, the Pakistani rupee has remained stable, trading between 277 and 278 during the review period.

As a result of these adjustments, the price of HSD is projected to reach Rs. 258-259 per liter, while MS petrol rates are expected to climb to Rs. 251-252 per liter. In contrast, the prices of kerosene and light diesel oil are likely to remain unchanged.

In the previous fortnight, the government had maintained the prices of both petrol and HSD without any changes. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is set to submit its final recommendations to the government on November 30. The Ministry of Finance will then consult with the Prime Minister before finalizing the new prices.

A formal notification reflecting the updated rates will be issued following the Prime Minister’s approval.
