The federal government is anticipated to reduce the prices of MS petrol and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs. 12 per liter each on September 14, 2024, following a decline in international oil prices.

This expected decrease is attributed to global oil prices falling below $70 per barrel during the current fortnight. Additionally, the Pakistani rupee has remained stable at 278 against the dollar during this period, contributing to the favorable pricing forecast.

As a result, the price of HSD is projected to decrease to Rs. 250-251 per liter, while MS petrol rates are expected to fall to Rs. 247-248 per liter.

In the previous pricing adjustment, the government reduced the petrol price by Rs. 1.86 per liter, bringing it down to Rs. 259.1. The diesel price was also cut by Rs. 3.32 per liter, setting it at Rs. 262.75
