The meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination, chaired by Sardar Muhammad Khan Masti Khel, commenced with a discussion on the caretaker government’s decision to transfer the powers of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to the Cabinet Division.

The committee chairman emphasized that the caretaker setup is not authorized to make policy decisions or implement them, as these responsibilities lie with elected representatives. He declared that the policy measures taken by the caretaker setup are unconstitutional and illegal.

In a significant move, the committee rejected the caretaker government’s decision to delegate PCB’s powers to the Cabinet Division. The chairman, with the consultation of committee members, decided to write a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressing their concerns.

The committee expressed strong displeasure over the absence of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. The chairman reprimanded PCB officials, stating, “There is no sacred cow here. Tell your chairman to appear and submit a response.”

The committee made it clear that they would not accept any illegal actions. Additionally, there was concern over the delayed submission of documents by the Pakistan Sports Board, with instructions given to provide the relevant documents within three days.

The committee was also frustrated by the lack of response from the Pakistan Cricket Board and issued a notice to Mohsin Naqvi, demanding his presence and accountability.
