The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved a substantial Rs. 12.042 billion grant for non-formal education projects across Punjab, alongside a feasibility study for an ambitious SkyWalk Glass Bridge in Murree.
During its 41st meeting, chaired by Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Awan, the PDWP sanctioned three non-formal education schemes in central, south, and north Punjab, with allocated budgets of Rs3.256 billion, Rs5.154 billion, and Rs3.604 billion, respectively.
A key highlight of the meeting was the approval of a feasibility study for the construction of a SkyWalk Glass Bridge in Murree, a popular hill station known for its scenic beauty. The study, designated as PC-II, will be conducted at a cost of Rs13.24 million. This project aims to enhance Murree’s appeal as a tourist destination by offering visitors a unique and thrilling experience.
Additionally, the board approved the preparation of dossiers for the tentative World Heritage Sites of Harappa and Hiran Minar, with an allocated budget of Rs15.3 million.
The meeting was attended by P&D Board Secretary Dr. Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, members of the P&D Board, and other senior officers.
