The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has intensified efforts to block access to blasphemous and pornographic websites across the country.

From 2018 to 2024, the PTA blocked 100,183 URLs with blasphemous content and restricted access to more than 844,008 pornographic sites. Despite these measures, about 20 million attempts are made daily to access pornographic websites within Pakistan and many use VPNs to bypass restrictions, according to a statement issued by the PTA.

PTA is actively working to prevent illegal access and is enhancing measures to block objectionable content. Following a recent request from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the PTA reiterated its commitment to taking all possible steps to curb access to blasphemous and pornographic materials online.
