Pakistan has been ranked 195th in the latest global passport rankings released by Nomad Capitalist, placing it among the weakest passports in the world. The country is positioned fifth from the bottom, reflecting limited travel freedom and other challenges faced by its citizens.

The annual ranking evaluates passports based on five key factors: visa-free or visa-on-arrival travel freedom, tax policies for citizens, dual citizenship allowance, and personal and social freedoms. Pakistan’s low ranking highlights its restricted access to visa-free travel and other limitations compared to stronger passports globally.

At the top of the list, Ireland claimed the title of the world’s most powerful passport, scoring 109 points. Irish citizens enjoy visa-free access to 176 countries, along with favorable tax policies, dual citizenship rights, and high personal freedoms. Greece and Switzerland tied for second place, followed by Portugal in third, and Luxembourg in fourth.

In contrast, Pakistan’s ranking underscores the need for improved global mobility and policy reforms to enhance the value of its passport. The report also noted that countries like Japan and Singapore, despite their strong travel freedom, ranked lower due to restrictions on dual citizenship and higher tax policies.

The UAE, New Zealand, and Iceland rounded out the top ten, while Pakistan remains among the least powerful passports globally, highlighting the challenges faced by its citizens in international travel.
