In a bid to deepen economic ties, Pakistan has proposed a zero-tariff bilateral trade agreement with the United States, local media reported Thursday. The proposal aims to eliminate tariffs on selected product lines of mutual interest, with the goal of boosting trade across multiple sectors.

The move comes as the US continues to negotiate trade deals in the region. Earlier on Thursday, US President Donald Trump revealed that India had also proposed a trade agreement featuring zero tariffs on American goods. However, President Trump expressed disappointment over Apple’s decision to invest in India, raising concerns about the tech giant’s strategy.

India is seeking to finalize its trade agreement with the US within the 90-day tariff hike suspension period announced by President Trump on April 9 for key trading partners.

Earlier this week, President Trump claimed that US diplomatic efforts were instrumental in averting a potential nuclear conflict between Pakistan and India. Speaking at a White House event, he also suggested that trade considerations played a significant role in the decision to de-escalate hostilities.
