The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that the government’s work-from-home arrangement allowing up to 50 percent of employees to work remotely on alternate days will not be applicable to its offices.

According to an urgent notification issued by the Revenue Division, all offices of FBR headquarters as well as its field formations will continue to function normally and will remain open on Fridays.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the committee responsible for monitoring and implementing conservation and additional austerity measures held on March 11, 2026.

The notification clarified that the previously announced restriction permitting up to half of the government workforce to work from home on alternate days, introduced by the Cabinet Division, will not apply to FBR headquarters or its regional formations.

All members of FBR headquarters, directors general, and heads of field formations have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the directive and maintain regular office operations.
