Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has clarified that the government has not yet made any decision regarding an increase in the salaries or budget of the Armed Forces. However, he assured that the federal government will continue to support the military in every possible way.

Speaking to the media, Aurangzeb emphasized the vital role of national institutions in stabilizing the economy and reiterated the government’s commitment to assisting the Armed Forces within available resources.

Addressing recent developments with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the finance minister revealed that there were attempts to derail Pakistan’s case during the IMF Executive Board meetings, including efforts to block or sideline Pakistan’s agenda. Despite these challenges, he stressed that Pakistan’s case was considered on merit.

Aurangzeb confirmed that Pakistan has fulfilled all IMF conditions, noting that any failure to do so would have complicated the country’s position. He added that Pakistan continues to enjoy the IMF’s full support, with virtual negotiations set to continue this week.
