Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing mounting political pressure at home and abroad following the Pakistan-mediated ceasefire between the United States and Iran, according to international media reports.

The Israeli leader is now navigating a fragile political landscape as criticism grows over Israel’s handling of recent regional tensions linked to the Gulf war.

Public Opinion Deeply Divided

Latest opinion surveys cited in Israeli media show widening divisions within Israeli society after the confrontation with Iran. Approximately 58 percent of Israelis reportedly doubt the success of the military campaign and question whether the current ceasefire can deliver lasting stability.

At the same time, public sentiment remains significantly more hardline regarding security threats from Hezbollah in Lebanon. Poll data suggests nearly 79 percent of respondents favor continuing military operations against the group, while a smaller segment supports ending hostilities altogether.

Political observers say this conflicting public mood has placed Netanyahu in a difficult position — balancing calls for stronger military action with diplomatic efforts aimed at preserving regional calm.

Rising International Pressure

Global pressure on Israel is also increasing. The United States, Canada, and Germany have urged Israeli authorities to respect the ceasefire arrangement and avoid steps that could reignite wider conflict.

Western allies are reportedly concerned that renewed escalation could spark a broader regional war and damage Israel’s diplomatic standing.

Political Risks Ahead

Analysts believe Netanyahu now faces a high-stakes political calculation. Backing the ceasefire risks alienating voters demanding a tougher security posture, while rejecting international appeals for restraint could deepen Israel’s diplomatic isolation.

Debate on social media platforms has further highlighted the political fallout, with some commentators arguing that support for the US-Iran truce may weaken Netanyahu’s electoral base. Others speculate that continued political turmoil could open the door for new leadership in Israel if public dissatisfaction continues to grow.
