In a significant step towards improving transparency and efficiency, the Islamabad/Rawalpindi chapter of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has begun integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its investigative processes. This initiative is aimed at bolstering the bureau’s efforts in combating complex financial crimes.

NAB officials have described the implementation of AI tools as a major advancement, enabling investigators to analyze banking data, trace financial trails, and uncover illicit money transfers with enhanced speed and accuracy. “These technologies are enabling our teams to uncover hidden links and suspicious transactions that were previously difficult to trace,” a NAB official stated.

As part of this initiative, a NAB delegation recently visited the National Centre of Artificial Intelligence (NCAI) to explore potential collaboration. The discussions focused on adopting global best practices, developing AI-powered investigative frameworks, and ensuring long-term technical support for NAB’s operations.

Dr. Ayaz, head of the NCAI, praised NAB’s commitment to innovation in its accountability processes and pledged full technical support. The NCAI aims to assist NAB in becoming one of Pakistan’s most technologically advanced anti-corruption bodies.

A NAB spokesperson emphasized the bureau’s determination to recover public funds and intensify its actions against corruption through modern digital tools.
