Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory predicting rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with snowfall over mountainous regions, in the upper parts of the country from the evening of November 14 to the morning of November 16, 2024.

A frontal weather system is expected to approach the northern areas, affecting regions including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, and others in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as parts of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Light rain and thunderstorms are also anticipated in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and several other cities across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The weather system is likely to alleviate the prevailing smoggy conditions in Islamabad and surrounding areas, improving air quality. However, dense fog is expected to develop in the plains of Punjab following the wet spell.

  • Murree and Galliyat
  • Kashmir: Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: Diamir, Astore, Skardu, Gilgit, Hunza, Ghanche, Shigar

  • Punjab (14th-15th November): Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Peshawar, Hangu, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan
  • Balochistan (15th November): Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Barkhan, Musakhel, Qilla Saifullah
  • South Punjab: Bhakkar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan
