Mari Energies Limited (PSX: MARI) has announced a significant hydrocarbon discovery at the Spinwam-1 exploratory well, located in the Lockhart Formation of the Waziristan Block in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This marks the fourth successful find at the well, following earlier discoveries in the Samanasuk, Kawagarh, and Hangu formations.

The company reported promising flow results from the Lockhart Formation tests. At a choke size of 64/64 inches, gas flow was measured at 70.3 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD), with a condensate output of 310 barrels per day and a wellhead flowing pressure (WHFP) of 3,264 psig. When the choke size was reduced to 32/64 inches, gas flow decreased to 29.3 MMSCFD, while condensate production was recorded at 166 barrels per day, and WHFP increased to 4,993 psig.

Mari Energies holds a 55 percent working interest in the Waziristan Block and operates the well in collaboration with Oil and Gas Development Company Limited, which holds a 35 percent interest, and Orient Petroleum Inc., with a 10 percent interest.
