Mari Energies Limited has announced its third gas and condensate discovery at the Spinwam-1 well in the Waziristan Block, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, further enhancing Pakistan’s domestic energy resources.
In a notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday, the company revealed that the latest discovery comes from the Hangu Formation, following an earlier find in the Kawagarh Formation at the same well.
According to test results, the well has flowed 23.85 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas along with approximately 122 barrels per day of condensate. These production figures were recorded at a 32/64″ choke with a Well Head Flowing Pressure of 4,042 pounds per square inch gauge.
“This discovery represents another significant milestone in our exploration efforts in the challenging terrain of Waziristan,” said a company spokesperson. “We are continuing to test additional targeted formations to fully assess the well’s potential.”
Mari Energies operates the Waziristan Block with a 55 percent working interest, while Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) holds 35 percent, and Orient Petroleum Inc. maintains a 10 percent stake in the venture.
Energy sector analysts view this discovery as a positive development for Pakistan’s efforts to reduce dependence on imported fuels amid ongoing energy security challenges.
