Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim as he arrived in Pakistan for a three-day official visit. The Malaysian leader was greeted at the airport with bouquets presented by children in traditional attire, a static guard of honor from a Pakistan Army contingent, and a 21-gun salute.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with members of the federal cabinet, were present to receive the visiting dignitary. A high-level delegation accompanies Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and is visiting at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During his stay, the Malaysian Prime Minister will engage in discussions with Pakistani leadership on a broad agenda aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. Key topics include trade, connectivity, energy, agriculture, the halal industry, tourism, cultural exchanges, and enhancing people-to-people contacts. The leaders will also address regional and global developments.
“Pakistan and Malaysia enjoy strong bilateral ties anchored in history, culture, and faith. This visit provides an important opportunity to further strengthen Pakistan-Malaysia relations,” the Foreign Office stated in an earlier press release.
