Households are facing a mounting energy crisis as LPG prices have surged past Rs. 500 per kilogram. Retailers report selling rates between Rs. 500 and Rs. 510 per kg, while their supply costs range from Rs. 480 to Rs. 490 per kg.
The official notified rate of Rs. 304 per kg has become untenable under current market conditions, according to shopkeepers. Oil marketing companies are supplying LPG at significantly higher rates, putting additional financial strain on consumers.
Residents have accused the so-called “LPG mafia” of amassing billions of rupees through inflated prices and are urging the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to intervene immediately. Citizens are demanding strict regulatory action to control the skyrocketing fuel costs and protect household consumers.
