Kuwait has pledged to facilitate the supply of diesel and jet fuel to Pakistani-flagged vessels, following a high-level meeting in Islamabad between Federal Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nasser Abdulrahman Jassim Al-Mutairi.
Officials said Kuwait Petroleum Corporation has committed full support to ensure smooth fuel supply from Kuwait to Pakistan’s maritime fleet, strengthening the country’s energy logistics amid regional and global uncertainties.
Malik expressed appreciation for Kuwait’s continued cooperation, noting that Pakistan has imported petroleum products, especially diesel, from Kuwait for more than five decades — a relationship he described as a symbol of mutual trust and strategic partnership.
The Kuwaiti ambassador reaffirmed his nation’s ongoing support for Pakistan despite global and regional challenges, highlighting the durability of bilateral ties.
Malik also praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to promote peaceful resolution of regional conflicts and thanked Kuwait for recognizing the country’s constructive role in maintaining regional stability.
The development reinforces Pakistan-Kuwait cooperation in securing reliable fuel supplies as geopolitical pressures continue to shape the energy landscape.
