The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Culture and Tourism Authority has announced a groundbreaking initiative to provide interest-free loans to young entrepreneurs, with a special focus on empowering women in tourist areas. The scheme aims to revolutionize the province’s tourism industry, offer visitors a homely experience, and economically uplift local communities.
In an exclusive interview with a private news channel, Director General (DG) of the KP Culture and Tourism Authority, Ashfeen Haider, highlighted the benefits of the initiative for local entrepreneurs and the tourism sector. He emphasized that the program is designed to unlock the region’s tourism potential while promoting economic growth and sustainability.
Ashfeen Haider explained that the loan distribution process has been divided into three phases. After the final phase, assessments will be conducted to ensure that the facilities and accommodations provided to tourists meet the authority’s standards.
“We are also focusing on incorporating solar energy solutions to make these facilities more sustainable and eco-friendly,” he added.
A key feature of the initiative is its commitment to empowering women. Ashfeen Haider stated, “We have set a target to ensure that at least 50% of the beneficiaries are female entrepreneurs. This will provide them with equal opportunities to access these interest-free loans and actively participate in the growth of KP’s tourism industry.”

The DG assured complete transparency in the loan distribution process and revealed that the program draws inspiration from international best practices. “We are committed to providing world-class facilities to tourists, ensuring a memorable and comfortable experience in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said.
