The federal government has increased the price of kerosene oil by Rs 70.73 per litre, setting the new rate at Rs 428.74 per litre, according to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

The adjustment comes into effect immediately, with officials pointing to fluctuations in international oil markets as the main reason behind the revision.

In contrast, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to keep the prices of petrol and diesel unchanged for the time being, providing some relief to consumers. However, the significant increase in kerosene prices is expected to raise living costs, particularly for households that rely on it for everyday use.
