Islamabad High Court’s division bench has suspended the single-bench ruling, effectively reinstating recently ousted PTA Chairman Major General (Retd) Hafeez ur Rehman.
Acting on his petition, a two-judge bench comprising Justice Asif and Justice Inaam Amin Minhas set aside the order issued by Justice Babar Sattar’s court. Rehman had challenged his removal as unlawful and sought to have it struck down.
Legal analysts say the case carries broader implications beyond the chair’s tenure, touching on constitutional questions, governance, and the administrative framework of Pakistan’s telecom regulator.
