The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory predicting heavy rain on Youm-e-Aushra, July 6, 2025, which coincides with 10th Moharram ul Haram. According to the alert, a heavy downpour may trigger urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Nowshera, and Peshawar.
The advisory states that large swathes of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, and Islamabad are likely to receive rain-thundershowers on July 6. Meanwhile, most parts of Sindh and Baluchistan are expected to experience hot and humid weather, with chances of light rain or drizzle in Karachi and Hyderabad during the morning and night.
Authorities have been urged to make necessary arrangements for Muharram processions in light of the predicted weather activity. The public is advised to stay updated and take precautions as the situation develops.
